Stefan Nelson Named New LeoVegas CEOHarry Coulter | 17 May 2018
Stockholm-based mobile and online casino and gaming firm, LeoVegas has named SEB Corporate Finance Director, Stefan Nelson as its new Chief Financial Officer. This is according to a public statement, detailing the particulars of Nelson’s appointment, released by the company last week.
Nelson will officially take over the role from LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group’s current CFO, Viktor Fritzén, who will shortly move into the role of Senior Advisor to the firm’s management team, on 22 August 2018.
LeoVegas has expressed great pleasure at welcoming Nelson, who has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry, to the fold. Nelson is similarly enthusiastic about his new position, describing LeoVegas as one of the fastest-growing companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
Extensive Industry Expertise
Upon announcing the appointment of Nelson to the position of CFO, LeoVegas Chief Executive, Gustaf Hagman said that he was extremely pleased to have recruited him to this role. Hagman cited Nelson’s extensive expertise in financial matters as well as his business and gaming industry acumen as major assets to the LeoVegas team.
The CEO pointed out that Nelson is one of Sweden’s most esteemed gaming analysts, making him a perfect addition to the LeoVegas management team and the ideal candidate to serve as Hagman’s new right hand.
Hagman further lauded Nelson’s deep understanding of M&A and his unique perspective of numbers within the correct context.
When Nelson steps into his new role as LeoVegas CFO, it will be with an existing familiarity of the company and its way of doing things. This is because Nelson dealt extensively with the firm and its management team in his former role as the Director of Swedish financial group, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) AB. In this role, Nelson led LeoVegas Gaming’s Initial public offering (IPO) on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2016.
He has described LeoVegas as an impressive leader in a vast and fast-paced industry still in its early development stages. Nelson is particularly impressed by the company’s unique corporate culture, to which he attributes much of its success. It is a culture that he looks forward to joining as he assists LeoVegas in its continued growth. It is a journey that Nelson anticipates will be highly stimulating.
Fritzén Remains Close
While Stefan Nelson will be taking over as LeoVegas CFO, the current CFO, Viktor Fritzén will not be straying from the fold. Instead, after a planned period of parental leave starting at the end of 2018, Fritzén will move into the role of Senior Advisor to the LeoVegas management team.
